Puppy Foundation Program - Service Dog

Our Puppy Foundation Program is designed to give future service dogs the best possible start. During this time, your pup will receive consistent socialization, house and crate training, basic obedience, exposure to different environments, and the early foundations of public access work.

This program helps set up owner-trainers for long-term success by building a confident, well-mannered, and focused service dog candidate—ready to continue their training journey with a solid foundation already in place. Contact us directly for more information on these services

Puppy Head Start Program

Want to skip the sleepless nights and stressful early puppy stage? Our Puppy Head Start Program is designed for families who want a well-mannered, confident young dog without the chaos of raising a puppy from scratch. We take on your 8-week-old puppy and raise them until about 6–8 months of age, focusing on everything needed to become a well-rounded, reliable family companion.

Your pup will be house and crate trained, socialized with people, dogs, and new environments, and taught all their basic manners—like polite leash walking, coming when called, and not jumping up. By the time they come home, they’ll be past the hardest stages and ready to smoothly integrate into your home and routine. Contact us directly for more information on these services

Background:

Cass has always had a passion for all animals, but for dogs in particular.  Her love of dogs began when she chose her first puppy from a litter of border collies at the age of 3. Cass first began her career with dogs in 2018 when she got her first job at a doggy daycare and boarding facility. It has always been important to Cass to advocate for these dogs, be their voice, and take great care of them while their owners are away. This experience laid the foundation for her journey into the canine industry/world. She then transitioned to a training facility, where she expanded her skills by working with board and train dogs and developed her abilities as a handler. During this time, she also took on the role of puppy trainer at the facility, further deepening her teaching expertise.

She wanted to take her knowledge and skills to the next level and pursued a passion for service dogs, with these skills she could help dogs and people. She attended a 2 year Diploma course at Medicine Hat College and graduated with honours from the Service Dog and Canine Studies Management course. During this course, she raised, and trained a service dog. The dog lived with her, went to school with her, and everywhere else that she went - the gym, restaurants, grocery store, the mall, etc. This dog is now an autism service dog.

Following her studies in Medicine Hat, Cass was hired by a service dog organization, gaining invaluable experience in this specialized field.
